Celebrate Arts + Culture Day
April 22, 2019 - Maine State House Hall of Flags
8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
The Maine Arts Commission and ArtsEngageME are proud to present Arts + Culture Day at the Maine State House on April 22. The event is free and open to the public as an opportunity to strengthen relationships between arts leaders and public officials and to discuss policy improvements to Maine’s cultural landscape.
Help celebrate Maine's Cultural Sector by increasing awareness of the arts and its impact on our state's economy, education, community engagement, heritage preservation, and more. The event runs from 8 a.m to 12 p.m. in the Hall of Flags and will consist of two primary offerings; an area for arts organizations to set up informational tables and an area for presentations and performances.
Performances will include the Pineland Fiddlers, the Bangor String Quartet, and readings by Maine Poet Laureat Stuart Kestenbuam. Presenters will include the Maine Arts Commission, ArtsEngageME boardmembers, and the Maine Office of Tourism.
Help spread the word and join in on the day's festivities to improve policymaker awareness of the arts, or book a display table by contacting Kathy Ann Shaw for more information. We hope to see you there!
